Fantastic as always! Make sure to try the posole. We always split a bowl otherwise between the posole, tableside guacamole, and chips and salsa we don't have room for the entree! I went with a full fledged entree this time, but, I think I need to stick with the tacos. I love the starters so much there's no need to "go big" at the end of the meal, and the tacos help close out dinner JUST RIGHT. One more tip other than GET THE POSOLE is to get a blood orange margarita with a bit of their chili tequila. Seriously. If you order it, they'll add a splash of their VERY good chili tequila, which takes away a tad bit of the sweet of the margarita and adds a slight hint of heat. Really, really good. Enjoy!

Father's Day dinner was amazing. This was our second visit to The Mission and it was every bit as wonderful as we remembered. Creative wonderful food, friendly staff and having Michael Phelps sit two tables away with his family added to the specialness of the event.

Make sure you have the Mango Margarita. It's spicy and yummy!

Went for Sunday brunch and the crowd arrived early. Clearly, the Mission is known for brunch and for good reason. Innovative dishes and fast friendly service. I had the savory corn and crab pancakes which was just sweet enough that it didn't need syrup. I'm not a pancake buy but these were easily one of my favorites. Also a nice bonus was half price mimosas and bloody marys

Our waiter was very nice and pleasant and the kitchen staff as they made sure we got our food before they closed the kitchen down. However, the hostess and the rest of the staff we interacted with were rude and definitely need a lesson in customer service, I would understand if they were trying to close down the restaurant, but there were many tables still seated with customers still eating/ drinking and the bar stays open later than the kitchen so not sure what was going on with them.

We had a reservation for 4 on a Saturday night. The food was great, table side guacamole was amazing and the margarita was superb. They also offer "michelada style " beer which was a nice surprise. The only down side was the extremely dim lighting, be prepared to use the flashlight on you phone. And not one employee looked happy to be there, we couldn't get our waitress to crack a smile. Maybe we caught them on a bad night?

We had a great experience. As requested, we were on patio. Glad we did, because inside was a bit too loud for our conversation, but we did miss out on some of the happening vibe. For another occasion, the energy inside was awesome and I would hope to dine in there. Hand crafted cocktails were delicious. Food was great. Our biggest complaint on service is the time it took to get our glasses of wine. As we ordered them well before our entrees and did not receive until after we finished our plates. The waitress did apologize for this.

The food was delicious! We really enjoyed the table side guacamole. The hosts were not friendly. They made us wait 15 minutes with a reservation while multiple tables were open. It was a bad start to the dining experience.

We dined outside on the back patio and were very cool despite the temperatures being over 100 degrees! The canopy protects from the sun and the cooler keeps the air moving and you can hear the birds and enjoy being outdoors in downtown Scottsdale. Service is impeccable. Food is incredible. Can't miss on the Mahi Mahi tacos.

Strongly recommend if you've just had your pupils dilated. Dark, very dark. despite having reservation, were seated at a tiny table in the corner anout 18 inches away from the Cooke next to us. the food is just okay, my grouper was overcooked and likely frozen. The pork was tasty, although it lacked texture. Cocktails weren't memorable, overall 3 stars, won't be going back soon.

Amanda was ourserver and she was clearly very overwhelmed. We dined here last year and had such a great experience. We make annual trips to Scottsdale and had hoped this would be one our regular place.
We also had table -side guavelmole and requested mild. It was so spicy we could not eat it.

The Mission is a great place for eclectic Mexican food. The ambiance is very good. Very dark inside. Kind of mysterious.

Where to begin, the food is always great! The drinks are great, the table side guacamole is divine, the duck empanada is to die for. We stopped in a few years ago and The Mission has turned into one of our favorite special date nights. It does get loud around 7pm, and on the weekends there are always a ton of bachelorette parties (this time we saw four different ones!). It is on the pricier side of things, but you def get what you pay for. When ever we want to impress out of town guests to a delicious Mexican dinner, we take them to The Mission. You just can't go wrong here. I personally would like it if it was a little more intimate, the tables are super close together, so you can't help but pretty much be involved with other guests' conversations. but other than that, it's amazing.

My husband, son (age 16 with a big appetite), and myself dined at Mission due to a recommendation from a friend. The food was delicious and the service supreme. However, 2 entrees (which were two orders of tacos). 1 appetizer, and 1 beer was over $60! Seems a bit outrageous. Obviously, my 16 year old son does not drink and neither do I. I'm horrified to think what the bill would have been if we each ordered entrees and cocktails!

I have eaten here before, for lunch. We sat on the patio, which was pleasant. I thought the food was decent, if pricey. This experience was not pleasant. We sat inside near the bar and it was SO DARK, that all 4 of us took out our phones to see the menu. The service, exceptionally slow. When you order a tequila at the beginning of your meal, and receive it at the end of the meal, that is wrong. We ordered the guacamole, chips and salsa for a starter. They brought the chips and salsa first, and by the time the guac came, the chips were gone. easily 15 minutes later. That said, the chips, salsa and guac were the best thing of the meal ($14) We had the pork shoulder tacos, at our servers suggestion. It was tasty. Came with quite a few small corn tortillas served on a salt block, and a tiny dish of Cotija cheese, onions and tomatoes. Our friend ordered the grits. They were laughable. The taste was there, but I have never seen such thin grits. They were more of a sauce, so eating them with a fork was, well, difficult at best. Then there was the street corn. Their street corn was $8 for ONE EAR OF CORN, which was unfortunately WAY overcooked. I am not sure if it had been in a warming area too long, which could have helped to cause that, because the cheese, (in normal street corn is crumbled on top) was literally melted. The taste was fine, but not great. The price, ridiculous.
I honestly write mostly positive reviews. I cannot here. We were not going to let it dampen our evening, so we just rolled with it all. And we knew we would have fun watching Keb Mo and Taj Mahal soon. ) We will not eat here again.

I've only been to Phoenix twice and ate here both times. The locale is quaint and the table side guac, blood orange margarita, and chocolate mousse dessert are amazing. Tacos, too! Our server, I wish I could remember her name (petite gal with tattoos and short dark hair) was awesome, she knew the menu and ingredients well and was very helpful in helping the vegan in our group make drink and food selections. It was very dark making it impossible for me to read the menu without the use of my camera flashlight, but that was easily overlooked with the overall wonderful experience and food. I give this restaurant an A+ and definitely recommend it to anyone who does not mind driving a little out of the way or spending a little more $ on Mexican food, it's totally worth it (and you get what you pay for!)
